CAN ANYONE PLEASE MAKE ME A GOOD CUP OF COFFEE

What can be so difficult about making a really good cup of coffee. I have 3 coffee makers and yet I still haven't adopted the skills to make a decent cup of coffee. I have tried for years to achieve that Four Star restaurant coffee. You know the cup of coffee that is served to you after a really deliocus dinner with really great people that you enjoy being with. Whaa whaa whaa, OK forget the dinner the family the friends. I just want a really good, no GREAT cup of coffee...Is that too much to ask. Any suggestions feel free to post.

It's the WATER. Buy a jug of spring water and use that. I swear it makes the coffee so much better

oh my gosh, i know exactly how you feel. for 5 years i was so totally spoiled by my high school daughter, who worked as a barrista in town & would gift me with the perfect cup of coffee everyday when she got off work. then she went off to college...i got a reprieve when she worked there her first summer home from school. now, i am SOL. it's a constant search to find the perfect coffee bean. and maker. so far my fave is krups, but i'm still looking for the right bean, and wishing my daughter would have been retained in high school another year...

I think, it is all together ... the bean, the water, the maker ... and a pinch of kakao ;-)

Two words for perfect coffee = French Press, 5 1/2 tablespoons good coffee to 4 cups of filtered boiling hot water. Let steep x 5 minutes, voila!!

I say, Italian stove top coffee maker, some really good beans, a tiny tiny TINY pinch of salt (it brings out the flavour soooooooo much) and if you like milk, boil it until frothy to go in. If you like coffee without milk, put in a dash of hot water as it comes out of the stove-top thing awfully hot.
